<br /> 8 <br /> <br />SECTION 2.3 - FINDINGS OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE SEDIMENT AND <br />RECEIVING WATER RISK DETERMINATION <br /> <br />The project risk was determined using the Risk Determination Worksheet1 provided by the State <br />Water Resources Control Board. The following is a summary of the assumptions made to <br />determine overall project risk. See Appendix K for back up documents. <br />Sediment Risk Determination: <br />The sediment risk for this project is low. Sediment risk was determined through the Individual <br />Method which includes the EPA Rainfall Erosivity Calculator and individual site specific data. The <br />following is a list of the factors that were calculated or assumed: <br /> <br />1) R = _ 9.62 (EPA Rainfall Erosivity Factor Calculator2) <br /> <br />2) K = __0.28 (Soil Erodibilty Factor) <br /> <br />3) LS = __0.11 (Length slope factor) <br /> <br />4) A = _ _0.30_ (Side Sediment Risk Factor, A = R x K x LS) <br /> <br />Table 1 - Sediment Risk Level <br />Sediment Risk Level <br />A < 15 Low <br />15 < A < 75 Medium <br />A >75 High <br /> <br />LOW SEDIMENT RISK <br /> <br />Receiving Water Risk Determination: <br />The receiving water risk for this project is low. The construction site does not directly or <br />indirectly discharge to an impaired waterbody based on the Receiving Water Risk map compiled by <br />the State Water Board. This information has been verified by inputting the Latitude and Longitude <br />into SMARTS as well. Appendix K for a copy of the map showing the approximate location of the <br />site. <br />LOW RECEIVING WATER RISK <br /> <br />Project Combined Risk: <br /> <br />Based on the sediment risk and receiving water risk for this project and using the Table 2 below, the <br />project combined risk is Risk Level 1.
