24 May 2021 <br />Project No. 14-3002 <br />Page 12 of 23 <br /> <br />The investigations performed at the Site identified two AOCs: <br /> <br />1) AOC1: the area along the eastern property boundary, south of the former power <br />plant/Facility. <br />2) AOC2: the location of the former power plant/Facility. <br /> <br />Two unpermitted landfill cells composed of glass processing waste were located beneath <br />each AOC that resulted in a discharge of COCs. <br /> <br />Twenty (20) soil borings/wells were advanced in the open fields to the north and south of <br />the Facility and within the collection pond (B1-B7, B10-B12, B23-B29, and MW1-MW4). <br />Landfill cells or buried wastes were not encountered in these locations, and samples <br />collected were not impacted with COCs. The AOCs represent locations on the Site where <br />buried waste was identified and COCs were detected. <br /> <br /> <br />5.1. LABORATORY ANALYSES <br /> <br />Discrete soil, waste, and groundwater samples were analyzed for the following selected <br />constituents: <br /> Percent (%) moisture in accordance with ASTM D2216-05 (solid samples only). <br /> PCBs and Aroclor 1268 (dry weight) in accordance with EPA Method 8082A. <br /> TPH-g, TPH-d, TPH-mo in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified. <br /> SVOCs and PAHs in accordance with EPA Method 8270. <br /> California Assessment Manual metals (CAM 17) Total Threshold Limit <br />Concentration (TTLC) in accordance with EPA Methods 6010B/7470A/7471A and <br />Soluble Threshold Limit Concentration (STLC). <br /> VOCs in accordance with EPA Method 8260B. <br /> Dioxins in accordance with EPA Method E1613. <br /> Hexavalent chromium by Waste Extraction Test using deionized water (DI WET) <br />in accordance with EPA Method 218.6. <br /> <br />Groundwater samples were analyzed for the following additional constituents: <br /> <br /> Ammonia, total as Nitrogen (ammonia) in accordance with EPA Method 350.1. <br /> Nitrate as Nitrogen in accordance with EPA Method 300.1. <br /> TDS in accordance with Method SM2540C. <br /> Hexavalent chromium in accordance with EPA Method 218.6.
