MOUNTAIN HOUSE NEIGHBORHOOD"F"PROJECT INITIAL STUDY
3) Site Assessment: Additional testing was recommended by the County for the area of the Bethany
Elementary School(see County letter dated September 2, 1998 and referred to in the Site
Assessment).
4) Canal Safety: Access restrictions to the canals maintained by the Byron Bethany Irrigation
District were thought to not be necessary beyond what signage is already in place. These are open
channel canals within one-half mile of the project site which were identified as potential safety
hazards in the 1994 EIR. Staff of BBID have concurred that signage would be adequate for
public safety. If trespassing becomes a problem, BBID will work with the Mountain House
Community Services District to ensure that other measures are implemented as necessary
(Gilmore, 2000).
An Emergency Preparedness Plan (or Incident Action Plan)was prepared as required by the County Office
of Emergency Services(OES), as per the requirements of the Development Agreement. The plan provides
for routine training programs and drills to be conducted on an annual basis, and is to be maintained by the
CSD.
Environmental Checklist
Potentially
Significant
Potentially Unless Less Than
Significant Mitigation Significant No
Impact Incorporated Impact Impact
HAZARDS.
