All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: There was no free chlorine detected in the pool. Maintain free chlorine between 2.0-10.0 ppm at all times <br />of operation. Close pool and keep pool closed until free chlorine level is verified by EHD. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: Pool gates doors did not have keep closed signs posted. Provide keep closed signs on gate doors today. <br />Safety signs were missing pool facility name and address and the number of the nearest emergency services. Provide <br />information in minimum 1 in. high text today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: The body hook was not permanently attached to the pole. Permanently secure body hook to pole today. <br />The rope for the life ring was not attached attached to the life ring and it was tangled on the ground below the life ring. Keep <br />rope attached to life ring at all times and store rope in a manner so that it prevent kinking or fouling. Correct today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope.
