The rig crews and Irani Engineering representative attended
E1 Paso Safety Orientation Meeting. Opened the well and found the well with 50 psig
tubing pressure and the casing was on a vacuum. Filled the casing with 2 bbls of
f fresh water. Pressured the casing with 650 psig. Pumped 2 bbls of fresh water down
the casing at 2 BPM! with 650 psig. The tubing pressure did not increase from the 5o
psig shut in pressure. (indication of no tubing or-Packer leak, other wise the
tubing pressure would have increased to 650 12sigithe same as casing Pressure. )
Pumped 2 bbls of fresh water down the tubing at 1 BPM with 700 psig for 2 bbls. The
well did not circulate. Removed- the production tree. Installed Class III BOP.
Tested the BOP with` 2000 psig. Released Baker Model A-3 Loc-Set packer. Pulled the i
packer and reset at 500' intervals to 1480' testing the casing. The casing tested
to 1200 psig at 14801 . Lowered the packer and isolated the casing leak between
1634' and 16641 . (Designated Leak Interval) . Pumped down the casing with 2 BPM for
4 bbls at 650 psig ; Released the packer, and shut the well in.
4-08 Open the well and found the well had zero tubing and casing pressure. Pulled out of
the hole with Baker'.Model A-3 Loc-Set packer and 2-7/8", 6.5#, N-80, EUE tubing.
The packer appeared Ito be in excellent condition. Ran in the hole with 6" OD Junk
Mill (to drill out cement from 4905— 5010' and the bride pluq at 5010' -50121. )
and Ball Test Sub (to pressure test the-tubing). Tagged the top of the cement plug
at 4905' .Drilled out hard cement (10'-20' Per ,hour penetratic,n rate. ) from 4905' to
4966' . Shut the well in until AM.
4-09 Drilled out hard cement from 4966' to top of Bridge Plug at 50101 . Drilled out
Bridge Plug. Pulled out of the hole. Ran in the hole with open-ended 2-7/8" tubing
to 96251 . Displaced the 63 pcf water from well with 346 bbls of 74 pcf mud.
Cement Plug No.l: Equalized 260 sacks Class G cement (Premium High Temp Cement)
premixed with 1-W Halad-322 (Fluid loss additive) and 0 .15W HR-5 (Retarder) at
9625' . Displaced the cement with 50 bbls. of 74 pcf mud. (I sack of cement has a
field of 1,15 and is estimated to fill 4. 655' of 7" casing-260 sacks x 1.15 = 299
FT3 x 4.655 = I391':' Estimated top of cementat 82341. ) Pulled up the hole to 8113'
and reverse circulated the well. (Reverse circulation ie to Pwnp down the 7" casing
and circulate up any Possible cement stringer that could be in the 2-7/8" x 7"
annulus causing tubing to become stuck. )
4-10 Opened the well and found the tubing and casing with zero pressure. Lowered the
tubing from 8113' and tagged the top of cement plug at 82111 . (Cement pluq set from
9625' to 82341) Applied 30, 000# set down weight onto cement plug. (The weight of
the 2-7/8" work string at 8211' was 53,370#. Xt was noted with the weight indicator
on the rig a loss of_ 30,000# when the top of the cement plug was encountered. ) Laid
down the excess 2-7/8" tubing to the next cement plugging depth at 52601 .
