September 26,2003
NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER:LE03-295
1660 Linne Road was found on the San Joaquin County Site Mitigation List and the CVRWQCB
SLIC List. This address was not found during the site reconnaissance. The case is listed as being
closed.
Three sites had Surface/Subsurface Contamination Reports performed concurrently for the same
client and in the same area. The three sites were searched for the same records using the same
parameters. Only one site(NE of Banta&Linne Roads)was reported to have had Use Reports. The
search performed on that property yielded an exhaustive list of chemicals applied to that property.
Following are the four highly toxic chemicals applied to the NE of Banta&Linne Roads site. They
are Methomyl,Paraquat Dichloride,Methyl Parathion and 2,4-D. In addition,Xylene range aromatic
solvent, seed and petroleum oil have been applied to the subject property, as reported by the San
Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office.
Methomyl has been applied to the property in all of the past five years with the exception of 2001.
The reported half-life of Methomyl is approximately 14 days. Paraquat Dichloride has been applied
to the subject property in the years of 1999 and 2000. Paraquat Dichloride has a reported half-life
of greater than 1,000 days, representing the most persistent highly toxic chemical applied to the
subject prorperty. Methyl Parathion was applied to the subject property in the years of 2000,2001
and 2002. Methyl Parathion has a half-life between 1 and 30 days. 2,4-D was applied to the
property in 2002 and has a half-life of less than 7 days. 2,4-D is only considered highly toxic when
in contact with the eyes.
The well on the subject property is supplied with power through two transformers that each have a
blue "PCB Free" sticker on them.
IX.
