As examples, an
increase in the volume of traffic and,the deterioration of the condition of roads which surround
the project due to this increase. It is presumed that a traffic study and subsequent mitigation for
traffic impacts would be required of the project if approved.
Another concern was the drainage system of the project. According to residents near the proposed
project site, there are existing problems with drainage and flooding in the area. The addition of an
88-lat subdivision would result in more run-off and more pressure on the system, and could
exacerbate flood type conditions.
Lastly, the Committee expressed concern with the potential conflict of use between an 88-lot
subdivision project and existing agriculture and industrial operations near the project. Will these
businesses be forced to modify their operations? Will residential inhabitants be informed
completely of the use and types of operations that exist around them?
Although the project is appropriate for the residential zoning, the impact of such a project on
surrounding business operations and residents of tic area should not be overlooked. The San
Joaquin Farm Bureau Federation respectfully contends that the proposed Negative Declaration is
not sufficient to reflect the impact of this project, as noted above. It is the San Joaquin Farm
Bureau Federation's position that a more thorough study of the environmental impacts of this
project be performed.
Thank you for your consideration,
eri Hansen
Program Director
POST OFFIC7 BOX 9444 - 3290 NORTH AI) An( WAY• (209) 931-4931 , STOCKTON, CA 9f)208
