This plan calls for lots much smaller than the General Plan
envisions for this area, and is totally incompatible with the
present use and the envisioned use of this land and the
surrounding properties . The DRE Report approved much larger
lots, thus much less traffic and population.
2 . Any environmental studies are ten years old and should be
required to be re-done. Flora and fauna on this property has
changed, and endangered species of insects and small rodents
may be present .
3 . Police services in this area usually require up to an hour
response time. This will be totally inadequate if the
proposed subdivision were to be populated as proposed, and
will require significant increases in law-enforcement costs
and facilities .
4 . Studies should be conducted considering the fact that the
property in question was, for many years, used as farmland,
and undoubtedly had many applications of herbicides and
pesticides . Residues of these chemicals may well be present
in the soil .
5 . Locke Road is in a state of disrepair that will require
complete rebuilding - not resurfacing - to be useable for the
amount of traffic that this proposal would anticipate.
