COMPLAINANT NOTICED THERE WERE <br />SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE THE POOL HAD TO BE CLOSED DUE TO VOMIT IN THE POOL OR FECAL MATTER. <br />WHEN THE POOLS WERE OPEN, COMPLAINANTS NINE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SWAM IN THE POOL. WITHIN <br />THREE DAYS, DAUGHTER BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE SEVERE STOMACH PAINS AND DIARRHEA. COMPLAINANT <br />TOOK DAUGHTER TO EMERGENCY ROOM AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE HAD AN INFECTION IN HER INTESTINES <br />DUE TO BEING EXPOSED TO HUMAN WASTE. COMPLAINANT BELIEVES THE EXPOSURE IS FROM THE WAVE <br />POOL. COMPLAINANT ALSO NOTICED THE TODDLER POOL HAD BAND AIDS AND A CHEWED UP HOT DOG ONE <br />NIGHT AND WHEN THEY RETURNED THE NEXT MORNING THE BAND AIDS AND HOT DOG WERE STILL THERE. <br />COMPLAINANT STATES THERE IS A FACEBOOK PAGE FOR GREAT WOLF LODGE AND ON THAT PAGE THERE <br />ARE AT LEAST 20-30 FAMILIES THAT VISITED THAT FACILITY THAT EXPERIENCED THE SAME SYMPTOMS. <br />VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />Items listed on this report as violations do not meet the requirements set forth in the California Health and Safety Code section(s) 116043, 116040, & <br />116050. All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br />COMMENTS AND OBSERVATIONS <br />Complaint inspection. <br />As per manager, he is not aware of the complaint. Facility dealt with some vomit occasion in the past by following the CDC <br />guidelines. <br />By checking the wave pool chemicals, pH is at 7.4 and free chlorine is at 1.2 ppm. Facility is checking chemicals every 4 <br />hours . As per manager, the UV systems of all indoor pools are functional and they didn't have any issues that need to be <br />recorded. Employees are cleaning and sanitizing the indoor pools area after operating hours on daily basis and they are <br />keeping logs for that. I don't observe any food debris or items in the wave pool during my inspection. <br />The person in charge is responsible for ensuring that the above mentioned facility is in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Health and <br />Safety Code.
