Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:There was no chlorine in the pool. Maintain free chlorine between 1-10 ppm when using liquid chlorine <br /> and 2-10 ppm when using tabs. Corrected on site, it was 4.2 ppm. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The pH was greater than 8. Maintain pH between 7.2-7.8 when operating. Keep pool closed until <br /> correction is verified by EHD. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Lacking diarrhea sign. Provide sign at gate door. Corrected on site. <br /> Information on safety signs faded. Provide name and address of pool facility on safety sign today. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535)Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br /> letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall,pole,gate, or similar <br /> permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. Provide and attach throw rope to life ring today. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible,and available for use.Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br /> rope.
