S A N J 0 A Q I I I Irl Environmental Health Department <br /> CCUNT <br /> Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br /> Facility Name: Facility Address: Date: <br /> G&E TEVELDE ORCHARDS INC 21750 E RIVER RD, ESCALON JUly 25, 2022 <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> (CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply) <br /> Item# Remarks <br /> 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: Stains observed in front of the secondary containment of the used oil tank. <br /> -Stains observed on soil in front of the corrugated metal pipe next to the used oil tank. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to minimize the <br /> possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous <br /> waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately clean the stains. Manage the waste according to Title 22 California Code of <br /> Regulations for hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department describing the storage and final disposition of the cleaned up waste. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 402 CCR 66262.34(4)(2) Failed to store hazardous waste in a compatible container. <br /> OBSERVATION: The facility has hazardous waste stored in containers that are not compatible with the waste. <br /> -Undrained used oil filters are observed inside a corrugated metal pipe behind the shop. <br /> -Used oil filters are observed in a blue plastic drum that was cut in half behind the shop. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: The owner or operator shall use a container made of or lined with materials which will <br /> not react with, and are otherwise compatible with,the hazardous waste to be transferred or stored, so that the ability <br /> of the container to contain the waste is not impaired. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately transfer the used oil filters to a compatible container. Provide a corrective <br /> action statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within <br /> 30 days. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: <br /> -Draining pan attached to the used oil tank was observed open on the southeast side of the shop. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br /> storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br /> when not adding or removing waste.
