All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #1 Pool Gates MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The south gate was not fully self-latching,the north gate was ok. Keep south gate door locked until it is <br /> fully self-closing and self-latching. Submit evidence of correction to dafonskaia@sjgov.org prior to unlocking gate or call <br /> 209-616-3035 for re-inspection. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br /> Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br /> except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CBC 31198) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br /> maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #2 Pool Enclosure MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Observed two large gaps in southwest corner of the fence where the fence was damaged,the openings <br /> would allow the passage of a 4 in. sphere. Per Marcelo they are planning to redo that portion of the fence sometime this <br /> year. Corrected on site,temporarily pallet was moved to cover the west opening and a shelf was already being used to cover <br /> the south opening. Repair fence or cover openings with secured wood boards within 2 weeks. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool area shall be enclosed by one or more of the following:a fence,portion of a building, wall, or other <br /> approved durable enclosure.Pool enclosure shall be constructed over a hard permanent material equivalent to concrete and shall be <br /> installed no more than 2 inches above the finished grade. Holes,gaps,or openings in the enclosure shall not allow the passage of a <br /> 4-inch diameter sphere.Doors, openable windows,or gates of living quarters shall not be permitted as part of the pool enclosure. (CBC <br /> 31196) Pool operator shall keep the pool enclosure well maintained. (CCR 65535) Pool enclosure shall have a minimum effective <br /> perpendicular height of 5 feet and shall be constructed so that it cannot be climbed by small children.Horizontal members shall be spaced <br /> at least 48 inches apart. No planters or other climbable structures shall be permitted within 5 feet of the pool enclosure or within a 5-foot <br /> arc. Chain link openings shall not be larger than 1314 inches when measured horizontally. Pool enclosures with a height of 4 or more feet <br /> are allowed if the enclosure was constructed prior to July 1994. (CBC 31198) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:There was no chlorine in the pool. Maintain chlorine between 2-10 ppm when operating. Corrected on <br /> site, it was 5.8 ppm. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine.
