The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for JAS EXPRESS INC as of September 27 , 2022 . <br /> Open violations from August 15 , 2022 inspection <br /> Violation #403 - Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing <br /> hazardous waste . <br /> OBSERVATION The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site : <br /> -A black plastic tote of used oil located inside a storage unit outside of the shop . <br /> -A black 55-gallon metal drum containing used paper filters located on the Northeast side of the property. <br /> -A black 55-gallon metal drum containing oily liquid and metal chains located on the Northeast side of the property. <br /> -Two 5-gallon buckets of used oil located inside a trailer on the North side of the shop. <br /> -A turquoise 55-gallon metal drum containing used absorbent located on the Northeast side of the property. <br /> -Three 55-gallon metal drums containing used oil filters , nonmetal filters and drained used oil filters located in the <br /> Northwest side of the property inside a trailer labeled ' M &J Truck & Trailer Repair'. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br /> storage , except when it is necessary to add or remove waste . <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION : Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed <br /> when not adding or removing waste . Provide a corrective action statement and supporting documentation to the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days . <br /> ❑ This violation was corrected ❑ This violation will be corrected by ( date) . <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation : <br /> Violation #406 - Empty hazardous waste or material container greater than 5 gallons not managed per this <br /> section . <br /> OBSERVATION The following empty containers were observed on site : <br /> -A green 55-gallon metal drum located in the shop . <br /> -A white tank located on the Northeast corner of the shop . <br /> -A black 55 -gallon metal drum located on the Northeast side of the property. <br /> -A silver 55-gallon metal drum located on the Northeast side of the property. <br /> -Approximately 10 empty metal and plastic drums located inside of a trailer labeled ' M &J Truck and Trailer Repair' <br /> on the Northwest side of the property. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Empty containers which previously held a hazardous material , including hazardous <br /> waste must be managed per Title 22 California Code of Regulations (CCR ) section 66261 . 7 . Refer to this section <br /> and California Department of Toxic Substances Control guidance for more information <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION : Immediately label all empty containers with the date they were emptied and manage <br /> within one year of that date . Manage the container per Title 22 CCR section 66261 . 7 . Provide a corrective action <br /> statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department ( EHD ) <br /> within 30 days . <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br />
