Soil Suitability /Nitrate Loading Study Irerracon
JPM o Lathrop, California
May 24, 2022 a Terracon Project No. NA227026
the west side of the residence located at the pond. The water faucets were allowed to run for
approximately 5 minutes.
1.4.4 Groundwater Sample Analysis
Groundwater samples were collected into a clean unpreserved plastic 125 milliliter (ml) bottle and
analyzed for nitrate as N by EPA Extraction Method E300.1. An additional groundwater sample
was collected into two clean glass 40 ml VOAs preserved with ascorbic and maleic acid and
analyzed for DBCP (1,2-Dibromo-3-chloropropane) by EPA Extraction Method E524.3.
1.4.5 Groundwater Sample Handling
The groundwater samples were immediately placed on ice and submitted to McCampbell
Analytical Inc. for analysis. Nitrate as N was reported below laboratory reporting limits of 0.20
milligrams per liter (mg/L) in both groundwater samples GW -1 and GW -2, below the Maximum
Contaminant Level (MCL) of 10 mg/L-N. DBCP was reported below laboratory reporting limits of
0.010 micrograms per liter (Ng/L) in both groundwater samples GW -1 and GW -2, below the MCL
of 0.2 pg/L.
1.5 Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The site is depicted on the Geologic Map of California website, as within generalized quaternary
Pleistocene and Holocene deposits which are comprised primarily of unconsolidated and semi -
consolidated alluvium, lake, playa, and terrace deposits.
Terracon reviewed the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) Web Soil Survey and USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin County
(1992) for information regarding soil properties. Based on information obtained from the USDA
sources, site soils consist of the following seven soil types.
130 - Columbia fine sandy loam, drained, 0 to 2 percent slopes, MLRA 17
144 - Dello sand, partially drained, 0 to 2 percent slopes, occasionally flooded
145 - Dello loamy sand, drained, 0 to 2 percent slopes.
148 - Dello clay loam, drained, 0 to 2 percent slopes, overwashed.
153 - Egbert silty clay loam, partially drained, 0 to 2 percent slopes, MLRA 16
167 - Grangeville clay loam, partially drained, 0 to 2 percent slopes
261 - Valdez silt loam, organic substratum, partially drained, 0 to 2 percent slopes, MLRA 16
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 9
