Soil Suitability /Nitrate Loading Study Irerracon
JPM a Lathrop, Califomia
May 24, 2022 ri Terracon Project No. NA227026
Terracon included the below descriptions for Dello loamy sand and Dello clay loam soil types as
the proposed septic system(s) will be located in these soil types. Refer to the USDA NRCS
Custom Soil Resource Report (Appendix D) and the USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin County
for additional information regarding the remaining soil types associated with the site.
Based on a review of the site plan, Dello loamy sand is located on the northern portion of the site
and Septic System 1 is anticipated to be located within this soil type. Dello loamy sand consists
of drained soils with 0 to 2 percent slopes. Parent material consists of alluvium derived from
granitic rock sources. Typical soil profiles consist of 0 to 7 inches loamy sand and 7 to 60 inches
sand.
Dello clay loam is located on the southern and western portions of the site and consists of 0 to 2
percent slopes. Septic System 2 is proposed to be located in this soil type. Parent material
consists of alluvium derived from granitic rock sources. Typical soil profiles consist of 0 to 12
inches clay loam and 12 to 60 inches sand.
Permeability is rapid and runoff is slow for both Dello loamy sand and Dello clay loam. The main
limitations for both soil types are low available water capacity and the high-water table and
perching. The soil is subject to flooding during high precipitation. Irrigation water should be light
and frequent.
1.5.1 Soil Boring Locations
Based on a review of the site plan, the proposed Septic System 1 leach field will be located north
of the pond (Exhibit 2). Three percolation test borings B1, B3, and B6 were advanced in the vicinity
of the proposed leach fields.
Table 5.
Soil Boring Information
Percolation Test
Depth (Feet)
Latitude
Longitude
B1
6.5
37.846732
-121.316546
(Soil profile)
B3
3.5
37.846394
-121.316561
135
5.0
37.843144
-121.314713
(Soil profile)
136
3.0
37.843137
-121.314576
1.5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
Four borings were advanced using a hand auger with a 4 -inch diameter auger. Refer to Section
1.5.1 for boring depths.
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 10
