GENERAL ORDER NO.089-164 3 <br /> 1. Any inmate, who because of a mental <br /> condition appears to be a danger to <br /> himself/herself or others or if he/she <br /> appears gravely disable shall be considered <br /> to be a mentally disordered inmate. Such an <br /> inmate shall be transported to the San <br /> Joaquin County Jail as soon as is reasonbly <br /> possible for examination by a Physciatric <br /> Social Worker. If in the opinion of the <br /> arresting Officer the inmate should be <br /> transported to the San Joaquin County <br /> Crisis Cenbter, the inmate may be <br /> transported there in lieu of the County <br /> Jail. <br /> H. Administrative Segregation <br /> 1. Those inmates who are determined to be <br /> prone to escape, prone to assault staff or <br /> other inmates, or likely to need protection <br /> from other inmates shall be transported to <br /> the San Joaquin County Jail as soon as is <br /> reasonably practical. Pending transportion <br /> to the County Jail, such inmates should be <br /> segregated from the general population if <br /> possible. <br /> I . Use of Detoxification Cell <br /> 1. Cell Number "1" , the padded cell, may be <br /> used for the holding of inmates who are a <br /> threat to their own safety or the safety of <br /> others due to their state of <br /> intoxification. <br /> 2 . Such inmates shall be removed from the <br /> detoxification cell when they are able to <br /> continue with the processing. <br /> 3 Intermittent direct visual supervision of <br /> inmates held in the detoxification cell <br /> shall be conducteq no less than every <br /> tii ( ) hours . <br /> 4 . The times of the above jail checks shall be <br /> noted on the Watch Commander's Daily Log. <br /> 5 . No inmate shall remain in a detoxification <br /> cell for more than six(6 ) hours without a <br /> recorded observation. <br /> J. Access to the Courts and Counsel <br /> 1. The Watch Commander shall insure the right <br /> of inmates to have access to the Courts and <br />
