Z
Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Evaluation-DRAFT Page 3 of 18
Great Pacific Nut—Nut Processing Facility Expansion
3501 Lehman Road, Tracy, California
May 15, 2019 CTE Job#25-071OG
2.0 PRESENT, PAST AND PROPOSED USE
The project site is utilized for agricultural production. Based on historic aerial
photography and USGS topographic mapping, with exception of the existing structures
currently present on the site, no other previous structures are indicated to have been
present on the subject site between 1993 and 2018. As indicated above, existing
residential structures are present on the adjacent parcel to the west (APN: 255-02-046),
northeast (APN: 255-02-058) and east (APN: 255-02-044) and the Banta Carbona
Irrigation District office building (APN: 255-02-062) is located to the southeast of the
subject site. Other improvements (existing wells and OWTS) are also present on these
properties. Based on review of aerial photography and published mapping of the
surrounding properties, current and past primary use of these adjacent properties has been
primarily for agricultural purposes.
3.0 SEPTIC PERMITS AND PERFORMANCE
Adjacent properties surrounding the subject site are currently in use for agricultural
production. A search of existing septic permits for the properties adjacent to the subject
site indicates replacement installations have occurred at APN: 255-02-062 in 1997, APN:
255-02-058 in 2015, and, APN: 255-02-044 in 1994. The system at APN: 255-02-046
was permitted in 1981 with no changes noted since that time.
4.0 FIELD INVESTIGATION
Field investigation, conducted on March 22, 2019, included site reconnaissance, mapping
of surficial site deposits, and the excavation of three perco o maximum
depth 10.0± ft to assess the subsurface soil and perform percolation tests. In addition, a
subsurface boring was excavated to 25.Ot ft on 4/24 1 o assess groundwater level at the
site. Percolation test results and the groundwater boring -GW) are attached as
pnep dix-B. Previously a"Geotechnical Engineering Investigation" report was provided
by this office for use in design of the proposed structures at the site, for reference, boring
logs from that investigation are included as Appendix-A, All borings and percolation test
locations are shown on the"Exploration Map", attached as Figure-2.
SACRAMENTO - FREMONT - MODESTO
INSPECTION&TESTING-GEOTECHNICAL-ENVIRONMENTAL-CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING
