12
13
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
Three listed facilities were identified
within one-quarter mile of the Site
on Environmental Health
Department databases reviewed.
(Current off-site)
According to the map reviewed,
three of four wells tested within one
mile of the Site have exhibited
levels of nitrate over the MCL of 10
mg/L-N, and one of five wells within
one mile has exhibited a DBCP
level over the MCL of 0.2 µg/L.
(Current off-site)
9.0 RECOMMENDATONS
Based on the records reviewed,
distances from the Site, and
reported ground -water flow
direction, no evidence was identified
of impacts to the subject Site from
these facilities. Existing ground-
water nitrate levels of 18 to 25 mg/L-
N were identified in the vicinity,
however. The adjacent California
Nuggets facility may also be a
source of periodic unpleasant odors.
The domestic well on the Site will be
tested for nitrate and DBCP as part
of the Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading
Study to follow this report.
This report should be seen as a screening tool to identify areas where hazardous
substances may be present on the Site. As part of the land use application
process, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department may
recommend that certain actions be taken in response to conditions identified.
Additionally, any conditions out of compliance with local, State, or Federal
regulations should be brought into compliance; it is outside the scope of work of
the Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report to identify these conditions.
LOGE 2232 15
