its]
11
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
Agricultural items, including
tractors, vehicles, vehicle parts,
tires, metal, tanks (fertilizer, water,
spray, and fuel), pallets, plastic
hose, wire fencing, and other
materials, are stored at several
locations on the Site. (Current on-
site)
Small soil stains were noted at
several locations in the equipment
storage areas of the Site. (Current
on-site)
Nine plastic drums were observed
to the east of the lean-to on the
Site. The drums were closed,
labeled, and located on pallets.
Additional drums and containers
were located inside the lean-to.
(Current on-site)
Ten pole -mounted transformers
were observed on the Site. Most of
the transformers were marked with
blue stickers indicating they are
free of polychlorinated biphenyls.
(Current on-site)
Mr. Kuil has indicated that the
majority of these items will be used
for repairs to current equipment. He
stated that the destroyed fuel tank
will be cut up for scrap, and the
intact fuel tank will be removed from
the Site. The San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
provides regulatory oversight for any
hazardous materials issues related
to equipment storage. Live Oak was
not able to fully inspect all of the
materials stored on the Site due to
the number and density of items
present.
The staining appears to be typical of
a busy agricultural facility. Should
the land use in these areas change
in the future, further investigation
could be warranted.
The San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
provides regulatory oversight for
hazardous materials storage.
The utility provider may have
additional information about PCB
content of the transformers.
LOGE 2232 14
