Complaint Investigation Summary Report*5105
COMPLAINT ID: CO0054992 Site Location: 1805 HARBOR ST
Activity Summary
Activity Date Recorded by
06/21/2022 Printed relevant complaint documentation. ERNEST
Investigated complaint number CO0054992. Complaint states mineral run off is
contaminating the near by
waterway. Discussed storm drain run off with Robert Mentelos Plant Manger. He
indicated storm water run off
does not go to city water system. All water collected by storm drains is collected in
a storm water separator.
Robert M. indicates storm water is released to delta after being separated by the
storm water separator. Storm
water is monitored by the facility. Residual liquid left in the storm water separator is
pumped out and disposed of
as hazardous waste. Ore is brought in from rail cars and stored under a canopy
then loaded to ships using a
conveyor. Loading operations were discussed with Robert M.. He indicated tarps
are used to collect any mineral
ore lost from loading operations. The ore is also watered to prevent the ore from
turning to dust during the
loading process.
5105.rpt Page 2 of 2
