HONORABLE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
May 5, 1982
Page Fifteen
3) Those mobile and nondegradative compounds which
must be assimilated over the site area so that
excessive leachates are not generated.
The Forward, Inc. , site has been operated safely for
the past ten years without difficulty by careful recording
and monitoring.
Pretreatment equipment is planned for installation at
the site this year that will make it cost effective to remove
heavy metals, such as copper and nickel, from waste.
Drilling mud sludges will be stabilized and landfarmed. These
new developments are in full compliance with the Alternatives
to Land Disposal of Hazardous Wastes Report and have full
support. Since there is such a strong public interest in
this project, Forward, Inc. , plans to provide the local news
media with up-to-date information on alternative technology
developments on a regular basis.
Since many of the regional waste streams result from
agricultural activities, we welcome members from the farm
community to meet with us and discuss our operations and
site plans in detail.
In view of the above, we therefore, again, respectfully
request that the Board of Supervisors close this matter.
ery truly yours,
H W.
