DESCRIPTION OF HAZARDOUS WASTES <br /> During the months of September and October, 1980, Forward, Inc. signed contracts <br /> to accept industrial waste products from Proctor and Gamble Company of Sacramento, <br /> California and FMC Corporation of Modesto, California. These waste products are <br /> not listed on PA 8700-12(FR) issued on May 19, 1980, however, they are described <br /> as follows: <br /> Proctor and Gamble Waste <br /> Source - Processing Plant, Sacramento, California <br /> Filter Cake Sludge <br /> Hazardous Properties - EP - toxic(?) , flammable (?) <br /> Volume - 3600 cu. yds/year <br /> FMC Waste <br /> Source - FMC Corporation Industrial Chemical Division <br /> Modesto, California <br /> Leaching and kiln gas scrubbers <br /> Hazardous Properties - Corrosive, EP - Toxic <br /> Composition - The combined solids from the leaching and kiln <br /> gas scrubber operations contain as major components: Barium <br /> and strontium sulfates, barium silicates, unburned carbon, <br /> stronium carbonate, calcium hydroxide, and calcium sulfate <br /> and sulfite. Minor but significant components include barium <br /> and strontium sulfides, sodium sulfite and sulfate, iron and <br /> aluminum oxides, magnesium hydroxide, silica and trace . <br /> quantities of numerous metal oxides, hydroxide and sulfides. <br /> Volume - 20,000 cu. yds/year <br /> 4 <br />
