October 3, 1983 <br /> Project 116-1.4 <br /> - 3 - <br /> In response to a request from Mr. Gary Reents, DOHS, the following <br /> paragraph contains the calculations used for sizing the leachate <br /> retention pond constructed at the base of Forward Trench A. <br /> Total Area of Waste Compartment exposed to 24" annual precipitation. <br /> 370' (length) X 135' (width) X 2' (depth) = 99,900 cu.ft. of water. <br /> Total Area of Retention Pond exposed to 24" annual precipitation. <br /> 175' (length) X 116' (width) X 2' (depth) - 40,600 cu.ft. of water. <br /> Total Pond Capacity Required = 99,900 + 40,600 = 140,500 cu.ft. <br /> Pond Dimensions: <br /> 150' (ay. length) X 95' (ay. width) X 12' (total depth). <br /> Pond Capacity w/2' of freeboard; <br /> 150' X 95' X 10' = .142,500 cu.ft. <br /> GBetac_ lssociates �j i <br />
