October 3, 1983
Project 116-1.4
- 4 -
Based upon the verbal approval received from Mr. Tom Pinkos of your
staff, the first FMC waste will be placed over the base layer of tires in
Disposal Trench #4 during the week of October 3, 1983. At the completion
of placement of FMC waste, we will immediately commence placement of the
drilling mud waste from the evaporation pond system and from the storage
locations on the Forward site. We are attempting to make all haste
possible in the installation of the flexible liner in the retention pond,
as previously discussed. Assuming your review of the attached data is
satisfactory, we would appreciate written notification from your staff
and from DOHS at your earliest possible convenience. This will enable
FMC Corporation and Forward, Inc. to commence work on providing final
disposal for the wastes currently in storage at the FMC Modesto facility.
Sincerely,
BETA ASSOCIATES
Jack E.
