The bentonite seal shall be hydrated in
accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
The CONTRACTOR shall install a neat cement grout annular seal from the top of the bentonite
seal to the bottom of the vault box depth. Neat cement grout shall be mixed at a ratio one 94-
pound sack of Portland cement to 5-10 gallons of water.
The CONTRACTOR shall install a locking pressure cap situated within a monument style
(above-ground) well vault or flush mounted traffic-rated well vault, depending upon well location
and site-specific requirements. The well vault shall be set in a 4-inch thick, two-foot by two-foot
concrete pad, slightly above ground surface (if not set in an existing paved area).
The CONTRACTOR shall place all drilling waste into CONTRACTOR-provided and labeled
Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved 55-gallon steel drums to be hauled offsite and
disposed by CONTRACTOR.
The CONTRACTOR shall develop all monitoring wells for a minimum of 48 hours following the
placement of the neat cement seal. CONTRACTOR will supply and calibrate daily a meter
capable of measuring pH, temperature, conductivity, and turbidity. The CONTRACTOR will bail
the wells to remove any sand and silt from the well casing. Following bailing, the well screen will
be surged. After surging, the well will be pumped at least seven (7) well casing volumes and
the field water quality parameters have stabilized. CONTRACTOR will place all purge water into
DOT-approved 55-gallon steel drums to be hauled offsite and disposed by CONTRACTOR.
Kleinfelder will collect samples and procure laboratory services to profile drill cuttings and purge
water for CONTRACTOR disposal.
20191132.001A/SAC22P142176 Page 4 of 5 July 1, 2022
©2022 Kleinfelder
