The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 47 to 50 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat,
with a slight slope down to the northeast (Plate 4).
According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned C-G,
General Commercial. The San Joaquin County Community Development Department
states that this zoning designation "is intended to provide for a wide variety of
specialized retail and service uses, normally developed as a separate individual entity
rather than as part of a cluster of uses, which serve Urban Communities or regional
markets, requiring large amounts of land, and which necessitate special purpose trips
by consumers."
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
A septic system is currently located on the Site to serve the restaurant.
Proposed Septic System
A new septic system is proposed for the new fuel station and convenience store.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. Six septic documents were identified:
• April 1961 permit for addition to existing commercial septic system at "cafe &
station." Two 100-foot leach lines and two 6-foot by 6-foot by 12-foot deep
sumps were added to the system. A well is depicted to the south of the cafe.
• July 1963 permit for addition to existing commercial septic system. A 50-foot by
10-foot by 7-foot deep filter bed was added to the system.
• December 1965 permit for addition to existing commercial septic system at
"Foster's Truck Stop & Cafe." A new sump 36 inches in diameter by 9-feet deep
was added to the system, as well as a new tank and michrophor filtration unit.
• August 2003 Liquid Waste Plan Check. The form indicates that the "site visit
uncovered some leach lines. Tanks have some sludge."
• September 2003 building plans for restaurant remodel. The attached drawing
depicts two new leach lines installed by Larry Fuller.
LOGE 2240 Page 2
