WORK PLAN FOR LIMITED SITE INVESTIGATION <br />Sandhu Property Tracy, California <br />October 22, 2021 Terracon Project No. NA217074 <br />Responsive Resourceful Reliable 3 <br />2.4 Permitting <br />In conjunction with this Work Plan, Terracon has completed a SJCDEH Site Mitigation Well & <br />Boring Permit Application. See attached. <br />2.5 Utility Location and Geophysical Survey <br />Following SJCDEH approval of this Work Plan, and no later than 72 hours prior to intrusive <br />activities, Terracon will contact Underground Service Alert (USA) 811 North to arrange for <br />underground utility locates at the site. <br />To further evaluate the underground utilities at the site, a geophysical survey will be performed in <br />the vicinity of each of the proposed sample locations where mechanical drilling will be performed. <br />Terracon will utilize ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to detect any concealed utilities at each select <br />sampling location. GPR activities will be completed on the first day of planned drilling activities. <br />2.6 Sampling and Laboratory Analytical Program <br />To address the historical agricultural land use environmental concern, soil sampling will be <br />conducted in general accordance with the Interim Guidance for Sampling Agricultural Properties <br />Third Revision, prepared by the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), dated August <br />7, 20081. One soil sample will be collected from each of nine shallow and three deep borings in <br />the upper 0.5 feet of soil. A second soil sample will be collected at 0.5 to 1 foot below grade surface <br />(bgs) and will be submitted to the laboratory on hold. <br />Two additional soil samples will be collected from each of the three deep borings (20 feet bgs) and <br />submitted for laboratory analysis of petroleum hydrocarbons to investigate the former crude oil <br />release reported east of the site. <br />Refer to the attached Exhibit 1 for the proposed sample locations. The proposed sampling <br />locations may be modified in the field to account for utility clearance, access limitations, and/or <br />site conditions. The client will be notified of any significant modifications to the sampling locations. <br />The sampling and analytical program, including the number and types of samples and laboratory <br />analyses, is detailed in the attached Table 1. Investigation and sample collection procedures will <br />be conducted in accordance with local industry standard practices. Temporary investigation <br />locations will be plugged and abandoned in accordance with applicable local County requirements. <br />Investigation-derived waste (IDW) resulting from the LSI will be handled per state requirements. <br />IDW will be transported to and disposed at an approved receiving facility per federal and state <br />regulations.
