Upon acceptance and/or revision by the Board, these background
values will be used as Water Quality Protection Standards. If subsequent
sampling of background lysimeters indicate significant soil -pore liquid quality
changes due to either seasonal fluctuations or other reasons unrelated to waste
management activities at the site, the Discharger may request modification of
these water quality protection standards.
Report in
Parameter/Constituent
Units of
Quantity Collected
ml
pH
pH Units
Specific Conductance
µmhos/cm
TOC
mg/l
Chlorides
mg/l
Phenols
mg/l
Volatile Organics
mg/l or µg/l
WMU G (Class II Land Treatment)
Parameter/Constituent
Report in
Units of
-10-
Sampling
Frequency
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Sampling
Frequency
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Quarterly
Yearly
Sampling
Frequency
Quantity Collected ml Quarterly
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons* mg/l Quarterly
BTX&E** mg/l Quarterly
* Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons shall be measured using the Modified EPA 8015 Method.
* * BTX&E shall be measured using EPA Method 602.
Vadose Zone Water Quality Protection Standards
After four quarters of sampling data have been obtained for the background
lysimeter VDH-18, background values for vadose zone indicator parameters will be
calculated.
