k4 KLEINFELDER
Following well installation, the new wells will be incorporated into the Post -Closure and
Subchapter 15 Monitoring Programs for Forward Landfill as follows:
Depth -to -water measurements will be made in each new well prior to sampling.
The measurements will then be converted to ground water elevations for each well
by subtracting them from the surveyed casing elevations.
When water levels in MW -1, MW -2A, MW -3, MW -5A, MW -12 and/or MW -13 fall
below a level practical for sampling, the new well that corresponds to the "dry" well
will be sampled in its place. For example, if MW -1 and MW -3 are found to be dry
while making depth -to -water measurements, MW -1B and MW -313 will be sampled
and analyzed as if they were MW -1 and MW -3, respectively.
Data Analysis and Report of Activities
Upon completion of the field activities described above, a report of activities will be
prepared for client review. The report will present a description of field activities and
observations. Subsequently, quarterly and annual reports required by RWQCB and DHS
will include contours of ground water elevation, tables of analytical data, and an assessment
of the ground water gradient and analytical results.
Project Schedule
The described scope of work will require approximately 5 weeks to complete. The
estimated duration of each task is as follows:
Well Installation 1 week
Developing 3 days
Surveying 1 day
Report of Activities 3 weeks
Limitations
Kleinfelder prepared this workplan in accordance with generally accepted standards of care
which exist in Northern California at this time. It should be recognized that definition and
evaluation of geologic and environmental conditions is a difficult and an inexact art.
Judgements leading to conclusions and recommendations are generally made with
incomplete knowledge of the subsurface conditions present. More extensive studies,
including subsurface investigations, may be performed to reduce uncertainties. If the client
wishes to reduce the uncertainties of this investigation, Kleinfelder should be notified for
additional consultation. No warranty, expressed or implied, is made.
F12-90-48 2
