Geosyntec''
consultants
3.3.4 Data Validation,Verification, and Management
Laboratory data will be provided by the laboratory in both PDF and EQuIS electronic
format. Once data are received from the laboratory, several QC procedures will be
followed to provide an accurate evaluation of data quality. Data quality review will be
completed by Geosyntec in accordance with USEPA National Functional Guidelines
(USEPA, 2017). A Stage 2B data quality review (USEPA, 2009) will be performed for
all testing parameters,which consider the following:
• Data completeness;
• Holding times;
• Method blanks;
• Surrogate recoveries;
• Detection limits;
• Laboratory control samples;
• Replicates;
• Matrix spike/matrix spike duplicate samples;
• Initial and continuing calibrations;
• Internal standard area recoveries;
• Trip blank result; and
• Field duplicate result.
The results of the data quality review, including assigning qualifiers in accordance with
the USEPA National Functional Guidelines (USEPA, 2017) and a tabular summary of
qualifiers,will be generated by Geosyntec database manager and submitted to Geosyntec
QA/QC manager for final review and confirmation of data validity.
Laboratory data, which will be electronically provided and loaded into the project
database, will undergo a check against the laboratory hard copy data. Data will be
validated or reviewed manually,and qualifiers,if assigned,will be entered manually. The
accuracy of all manually entered data will be verified by a second party.
