The
contractor's HASP must comply with APTIM policies and all applicable statutes, federal, state and local
regulations and codes.
The contractor's HASP shall include a written summary of job hazards (e.g., JSA) for all major tasks they
will perform on site and submit them to the SHSO for review prior to the start of that task. The
contractor shall amend the HASP to reflect scope of work changes.
The contractor will provide a copy of the HASP for APTIM personnel to review within ten (10) days of
award of a contract or at least 10 days prior to commencement of work activities at the site, whichever
occurs last. The review does not warrant that the HASP will be sufficient for the proposed work.
Each individual subcontractor must make an independent determination of the applicability of
contractor's HASP to his/her work. If the subcontractor adopts the contractor's HASP, the HASP
becomes their responsibility to implement as it pertains to their work. The subcontractor assumes all
liabilities for such adoption and implementation. All subcontractor personnel will read and sign the
contractor's HASP.
Prior to the starting of work on this project all contractor and subcontractor personnel will receive the
site orientation from the contractor's SSO. An orientation is a general overview of the site only. The
contractor shall be prepared to conduct site specific training or have qualified personnel for the hazards,
tasks, equipment/tools required to complete the project. If English is not the dominant language of the
contractor's personnel, the contractor shall provide an interpreter to help facilitate the orientation.
All contractor safety related incidents including near misses, shall be reported to the SSO immediately.
Correction of Safety Violations
Every employer on the project site has an obligation to prevent or correct hazards and to protect all
employees from exposure to such conditions if they exist. To assure these obligations are being met,
contractors and subcontractors will be subject to frequent inspection by APTIM. The
3-5
