Per the September 9, 2021, call with the Regional Board, APTIM revised the March 13, 2020, scope of
work. Previously the scope of work requested installation and sampling of five soil gas monitoring wells
near the former cleaners. The revised scope of work will use passive soil gas sampling, which will allow
the screening of a greater number of locations. The passive soil gas sampling will be conducted behind
the former Ripon Cleaners building at 311 West Main Street, in close proximity to the existing sanitary
sewer lateral. The sample location siting will take into account utility locating and video inspection results
of the sanitary sewer lateral. Additionally, up to three other locations to the west of the Site will also
utilize passive soil gas sampling to evaluate potential of volatile organic compound (VOC) migration
toward the nearby residences. Per the RWQCB, up to four passive soil gas samplers will be installed near
two, and up to three, separate residences as discussed in Section 4.
This work plan provides the following information:
• Section 1—Introduction
• Section 2—Site Description and Background
• Section 3—Pre-Field Activities
• Section 4—Field Investigation Activities
• Section 5—Vapor Intrusion Evaluation
• Section 6—Scheduling and Reporting
• Section 7— References
FINAL RIPON PCE INVESTIGATION WORK PLAN.DOCX 1-2 PROJECT NO.631021512
