WORK PLAN FOR LIMITED SITE INVESTIGATION
Irerracon
Raising Cane' s Restaurant ( C0530 ) Stockton , California
October 27 , 2020 Terracon Project No . NA207025
REC /Site Concern Description
The site had a release of gasoline in 1988 that has subsequently
undergone remediation and has received closure from the Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (agency having
jurisdiction ) on August 15 , 2017 . During the last round of sampling in
2012 , concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline
range organics (TPH - GRO ) ( 19 , 200 milligrams per kilogram [ mg / kg ] ) ,
benzene ( 23 mg / kg ) , and ethylbenzene ( 170 mg / kg ) in soil exceeded
On -Site Former LUST Case 2019 commercial/industrial environmental screening levels ( ESLs ) and
TPH - GRO ( 32 , 000 micrograms per liter [ pg / L] ) , benzene ( 840 pg / L ) ,
and xylene concentrations (4 , 300 pg / L ) exceeded groundwater
commercial /industrial vapor intrusion 2019 ESLs in groundwater.
Based on the elevated TPH - GRO , benzene , ethylbenzene , and xylene
concentrations reportedly remaining in soil and /or groundwater above
commercial /industrial ESLs , the former LUST case represents a REC
to the site .
The scope of services includes :
Preparing this letter Work Plan for review and approval by the San Joaquin County
Department of Environmental Health ( SJCEHD ) ;
Advancing 6 soil borings , and converting three into vapor probes ( Section 2 . 6 and 2 . 6 . 1 ) ;
Analyzing soil samples for volatile organic compounds ( VOCs ) ( Section 2 . 6 ) ; and
Preparing an LSI report .
2A Objectives
The objective of the proposed LSI is to assess the presence of chemicals commonly associated
with the identified REC at concentrations above laboratory reporting limits and /or California
applicable screening levels in the on -site soil , soil gas , and /or groundwater . Soil and soil gas are
proposed to be assessed for the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs ) .
2 . 2 Commitment to Safety
Terracon has a commitment to the safety of all its employees .
