4.0 WORK PLAN <br /> This section describes the specific tasks to be completed as part of the scope of work. <br /> 4.1 PRECONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES <br /> Under this task, preconstruction activities associated with constructing the new LFG <br /> monitoring probes will be performed consisting of the following tasks: <br /> • Review data and project site information regarding the work to be completed. <br /> • Prepare and submit permit applications and fees to appropriate agencies. <br /> • Coordinate with drilling contractor to perform installation of probes. <br /> • Notify the landfill supervisor of the finalized schedule for probe installation. <br /> 4.2 DRILL LANDFILL GAS MONITORING PROBE BORINGS <br /> Probe boring construction will consist of the following elements: <br /> • Hold a preconstruction and safety meeting at the site. <br /> • The LFG monitoring probe borings will be drilled at the locations shown on <br /> Figure 6, and constructed per Figure 5, except when directed otherwise by the <br /> Field Engineer. <br /> • Excavated materials will be stockpiled prior to disposal on site. <br /> 4.3 CONSTRUCT AND INSTALL LANDFILL GAS MONITORING PROBES <br /> Construction of the probes will consist of the following elements: <br /> • The LFG monitoring probes will be constructed as shown on the construction <br /> drawings (Figure 5) except when directed otherwise by the Field Engineer. <br /> • Five-foot bentonite seals will be installed as shown on the construction drawings <br /> to insulate the probes within the well. <br /> • The LFG monitoring probes will be constructed with the aid of a backhoe or <br /> crane and lowered into the hole. <br /> 41 <br /> Multilevel LFG Monitoring Probe Installation Work Plan <br /> L:\Allied\Forward landfill\2001.132\Reports\Workplan\Sect-4rev2.doc:7/2/02 <br />
