Review all forms and diagrams documenting the location of the cleared monitoring well site and the location of any identified underground utility lines or other buried objects. <br />4.2.2 Decontaminate <br />Decontaminate all downhole equipment and well construction materials before monitoring or extraction well installation. Decontaminate the drilling rig and all drilling equipment before monitoring or extraction well installation per SOP-003 (Equipment Decontamination Procedures). <br />4.2.3 Calibrate <br />Calibrate health and safety monitoring equipment according to the instrument manufacturer's specifications. Document the calibration results on the appropriate form(s). Instruments that cannot be calibrated according to the manufacturer's specifications will be removed from service and tagged. <br />4.2.4 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) <br />Workers will be provided with, and don the appropriate personal protective equipment as specified by the project work plans. Typically, the minimum personal protection will include a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and coveralls. <br />4.3 Mobilization and Set-up <br />4.3.1 Mobilize <br />Clear the work site of all brush and minor obstructions and then mobilize the rig to the monitoring well location. <br />4.3.2 Discuss Site Conditions <br />The rig geologist or engineer should then review with the driller the proposed well design and details of the well installation, including any anticipated potential drilling or completion problems. <br />4.4 Well Installation <br />4.4.1 Drilling <br />Drilling of the borehole should be conducted in conformance with SOP-006 (Mud Rotary Drilling). <br />Commence drilling and advance the borehole while conducting health and safety monitoring according to the project work plans. Perform readings as often as necessary to ensure the safety of workers. <br />4.4.2 Ongoing Recording <br />Record all measurements and pertinent information on the Field Activity Daily Log (FADL), on other appropriate form(s) as specified in the project work plans, and in conformance with SOP-002 (Field Activity Records): <br />• Date <br />• Site <br />• Well or boring number <br />• Location
