2
2. The age of the well. MW‐7 was installed August 8, 2000, almost 21 years ago. Older monitoring wells generally
require regular/active maintenance to reduce the potential of contaminants entering the well.
3. Given the uncertain funding for investigation at Mr. Cano’s property, If MW‐7 is not destroyed as part of site
closure activities at the former Ranch Market site, it is unclear how the well will be maintained and destroyed in
the future. If funding becomes available to Mr. Cano, a replacement well specific to the investigation can be
installed as part of any proposed work plan.

Please advise at your earliest convenience if the Central Valley Water Board concurs with our recommendation do
destroy well MW‐7 under permit from San Joaquin County as part of Site closure activities.

Respectfully,

John Lane, PG
Condor Earth
Office: 209‐938‐1061
Mobile: 209‐743‐7443
jlane@condorearth.com

From: Buehler, Alan@Waterboards <Alan.Buehler@Waterboards.ca.gov>
Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2021 8:46 AM
To: John Lane <jlane@condorearth.com>
Cc: Meeks, Steven@Waterboards <Steven.Meeks@waterboards.ca.gov>; jose cano <krazypep@gmail.com>
Subject: DIRECTIVE LETTER ‐ Former Ranch Market, 23569 S.
