Determine the <br />anticipated Heat Index Value and determine and implement <br />appropriate heat illness protective measures (Table 22A-1). <br />• Familiarize workers with signs and symptoms of heat stress <br />(Table 22A-3). <br />• Pre-plan for emergencies and how to respond to symptoms of <br />possible heat-related illnesses. <br />• Use buddy system to monitor each other. <br />• If possible, block out direct sunlight in work area (portable <br />tent, etc.). <br />• Drink plenty of liquids.
