Subsurface samples will be collected by excavating soils to the target depth using a
backhoe. Removed soils will be stockpiled directly adjacent to the test pit and samples obtained directly
from the backhoe bucket prior to being dumped. Soils will be transferred to laboratory-supplied glassware
using a decontaminated stainless-steel trowel. Sample containers will be filled to the top taking care to
prevent soil from remaining in the lid threads prior to being sealed to prevent potential contaminant
migration to or from the sample. See Section 7.1 for preservation and shipping procedures. Following
collection of samples at each location, test pits will be backfilled using removed materials.
B
Project No.: 185704833.5.3&5.4 6.2
