I spoke with the Program Coordinator, Robert McClellon, in regards to
the onsite treatment of medical waste. We will not concern ourselves with it, as long as, the waste continues to be
hauled away by a medical waste hauler (Stericycle) and not discarded as solid waste. However, there is a concern about
the frequency of training provided to the autoclave operators. Autoclave operators and Management (including yourself
and Steve) should have annual training on the sterilization equipment and the sterilization process to ensure the process
is performed adequately. Evidence of the training is a corrective action listed on the inspection report.
Also, I spoke with Robert about the white biohazard containers (picture attached) that are on the workstations. He
mentioned the covers should be closed as much as possible, there is no need to replace them.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best Regards,
Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E.
