The project manager ( PM ) has <br /> overall accountability and responsibility for the safety of operations and the health and safety of <br /> all personnel . The PM is responsible for ensuring that the project is audited to verify compliance <br /> with the project HASP . <br /> 3 . 1 . 2 HEALTH & SAFETY PREPARER <br /> Terry Dussault <br /> The Health & Safety Preparer ( HSP ) is a resource for development of the site -specific HASP and <br /> may be consulted on all related health and safety issues that arise in the field . The Project <br /> Manager with the support of the HSP will make all final decisions regarding questions on the <br /> HASP . <br /> Health and Safety (Stantec) <br /> Stantec designated Health and Safety Professional may serve a similar role as Mr . Dussault to this <br /> project . <br /> Should there be conflicting information in Health and Safety Procedures, ICS and Stantec will <br /> consult with one another and disseminate their agreed upon resolution to their respective SSO ' s <br /> 3 . 1 . 3 SITE SAFETY OFFICER <br /> TBD <br /> The SSO is responsible for the daily implementation and enforcement of this HASP , as well as <br /> daily health and safety oversight of Site operations, administration of the respiratory protection <br /> program , and safety coordination with subcontractors . Specifically, the SSO will : <br /> • Ensure that personnel are aware of the provisions of this HASP and are instructed in work <br /> practices, safety, waste management , and emergency procedures . <br /> • Establish and ensure maintenance of site work zones . <br /> • Monitor the work area and personal breathing zone and ensure compliance of workers <br /> relative to pre - established personal protection levels . <br /> • Evaluate site conditions ( e . g . , weather, chemical , physical ) and recommend any <br /> modifications to existing levels of protection . <br /> 15 <br />
