L <br />• ' . <br />RMW will be stored in a designated secure location which will ensure that the <br />integrity of the containers is maintained, prevent leaks from entering the water <br />supply, provide protection from the weather, be easily cleanable, be <br />impermeable to liquids, and meet other applicable regulatory requirements. <br />RMW storage areas must be kept clean, pnd spills must be cleaned up <br />promptly. RMW storage areas will be secured and only authorized staff will be <br />allowed access. <br />Disposal of RMW will be done in a manner which is in accordance with <br />applicable regulations. RMW may be incinerated or autoclaved per federal, <br />state and local requirements. Refer to State specific and local requirements <br />section for any additional guidance. <br />All staff who prepare RMW for shipment, and staff who sign RMW manifests, <br />are required to have documented training regarding regulated medical waste <br />every 3 years. In addition, any staff who handle RMW are required to be trained <br />on bloodborne pathogens (reference the Exposure Control Plan in the Safety <br />Manual for additional information). <br />. ,. <br />All regulated medical waste manifest records and all related forms and <br />documentation are to be retained per state regulations unless longer retention <br />is indicated (as in the case of any unresolved enforcement action regarding the <br />regulated activity or as requested by certain governmental agencies). <br />FollowsV.
