Bognot [SJGH]; Susan Ramirez [SJGH]
Subject: RE: Education/training of nursing staff on biohazard waste and proper segregation
Good afternoon Jessica,
This is not what I am requesting for. I am asking for an educator from stericycle to come on site to provide proper
training. I have spoken with infection control and the nurse educators, and they feel that they are not properly trained
to offer this service to their staff.
The reason for this matter is because these findings were found from the Environmental Dept and they are requesting
that the nursing staff be given proper training. Since we have purchased this service, we should be provided proper
training at least once a year, for refreshers or updates. Please let me know when we can have this scheduled, this is a
time sensitive concern. Thank you
Paul Martinez
From: Susan Ramirez [SJGH]
Sent: Friday, January 31, 2020 12:46 PM
To: Paul A. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the
sender and know the content is safe.
Hi Susan,
Sorry we didn't get to connect today, I have attached some training materials that can be shared with the nursing staff.
The facility's nurse educator can review the Powerpoint with nursing staff, distribute a copy, and obtain a sign in sheet
(or have them sign a copy with the verbiage "I have received the training on proper waste segregation and received a
copy for my records"). Keep the signed copy in their files.
I hope this helps, thx!
p4ae4 60tufPw W,4
