This type of labeling will satisfy the pharmaceutical waste labeling
requirements so long as the pharmaceutical waste container is in the dolly and the label is visible from all lateral
directions.
We are still discussing with Stericycle the labeling requirements for pharmaceutical waste containers in
secondary wall mounted containers. However, pharmaceutical waste containers that are not wall mounted or in
dollies, are required to have the "Incineration Only" label on the lid.
Please call or email me if you have any further questions.
Ben Escotto
RENS
From: Dennis Gorton [SJGH]
Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 1:01 PM
To: Benjamin Escotto [EH]; Robert McClellon [EH]
Cc: Richard Aldred [SJGH]; Carla Bomben [SJGH]; Susan Ramirez [SJGH]; Wolf, Josh
Subject: Medical Waste Inspection and Meeting with Stericycle
I just returned from vacation and wanted to get an update after our meeting on June 29, 2011 with
representatives from Stericycle. Has any decision been made regarding the appropriate signage on the
Stericycle pharmaceutical containers? Are we in compliance or is additional signage on the container lid
needed?
I appreciate you feed back.
7/20/2011
