Diesel spill is not contained and is continuing to leak. <br />Called in by Sergent Kyle Plant. <br />Called Sergent Plant, CHP, who stated that the spill was the result of a traffic <br />collision. A small delivery truck rear-ended 2 cars on the highway. The truck <br />crashed into the guard rail and is tipped on its side. The side it is tipped on is the <br />side of the gas tank which is dripping diesel fuel out of it. CalTrans are on their <br />way. Lane #1 is closed, it is safe to approach accident scene. There were no <br />injuries as a result of the accident. <br />Called Juan Armendarez, CalTrans Hazardous Materials Manager. He provided <br />me with Robert Shanks contact phone number. Robert, Stormwater <br />Coordinator/HazMat Tech, will be at the accident scene. Called Robert, he is 5 <br />minutes away from the accident. Informed him I will also be heading to the scene. <br />Arrived at the scene with Kristina Saetern and Gabriela Garcia-Mejia. By the time <br />we arrived through traffic, the truck was already towed away. The truck was taken <br />by Lodi Heavy Haul. The truck diesel tank was still full, CalTrans estimates <br />approximately 5-gallons dripped out of the tank. The spill occurred in the bushes in <br />the center divde. No waterways were impacted, it remained in the center divide <br />bushes. The truck with the diesel in the tank were towed away. CalTrans replaced <br />the guardrail and is leaving the area conned off. Received contact information for <br />the responsible party. Called Richard Thai with Obaba Seafood International <br />(669-252-6585, richard@obabaseafood.com) to check on clean up, he will let me <br />know as he is on the other line with their insurance company. Received insurance <br />company name from CHP, Great Northern. Received photos from Robert and Sgt. <br />Plant. <br />At the office received a phone call from Roy Henry with RAH Environmental Inc, <br />he said they will be doing USA dig on Monday 2/21/2022. Let him know that we do <br />not need to witness the USA but to let us known when they plan on doing the <br />clean up so we can verify. <br />02/22/2022 Generated Prop65 for spill.
