MANZO, ELENA
Activity Summary
Activity Date Recorded by
12/02/2021 CONFIDENTIAL: Received complaint information from Genesis concerning Ozone MANZO
application at a residential house. The letter addressed to the EHD contained an
email address, sent an email to iep504@yshoo.com for additional information.
Received a call back from Claudia Lowe, 916-695-2872. Claudia indicated that the
house developed an odor and they retained Servepro (located at 59 Huston Lane,
Suite B, Lodi, CA, 209-368-6119, www.servprolodi.com) to treat the house for bad
odors. The house is occasionally rented out as Airbnb and after the last tenant an
unpleasant rotting like odor was noted by the property owners. Servepro treated
the house by an ozone generation equipment from 10/18/2021 to 10/24/2021 at a
rates of approximately 120,000 cubic feet/12 hours. Servpro indicated to Claudia
that it was safe and they should open doors and windows at the end of the
application. On their website, Servpro indicates to hold the following Licenses:
General Contractor License #: 891056, Biohazard Contractor License #: 451,
California State License Board (CSLB) #: 891056. Claudia indicated that Servepro
didn't tell them they have to leave the house and didn't conduct any ozone
monitoring during or after the application. Claudia reported that the house had
bluish haze inside the house during treatment and is exhibiting an acrid acid like
smell that hasn't gone away since the house was treated. Claudia indicated that
she is currently seeking medical attention for difficulties breathing and is
concerned that she was exposed to unhealthy levels of ozone. Claudia indicated
that she will send a brief summary of dates, equipment used and ozone
concentrations during application to my email. Researched agencies that may
have the jurisdiction over this issue. Generated the complaint, discussed
complaint with M. Henry (CUPA program coordinator). EHD will refer the
complaint to Air Quality, CDPH, and consumer protection (www.oag.ca.gov ).
Generated a complaint at https://www.valleyair.org/Home.htm (SJVAPCD) for
complaint referral (reference N-2112-008). Received an email from Claudia with
contact information, printed the email.
5105.rpt
