Eli <br />Housekeeping, Continued <br />Equipment Equipment that becomes contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious <br />material shall be examined prior to servicing or shipping and shall be decontaminated <br />as necessary, unless the facility can demonstrate that decontamination of such <br />equipment or portions of such equipment is not feasible. <br />A readily observable biohazardous label shall be attached to the equipment stating <br />which portions remain contaminated. <br />The facility shall ensure that this information is conveyed to all affected associates, the <br />servicing representative, and/or the manufacturer, as appropriate, prior to handling, <br />servicing, or shipping so that the appropriate precautions will be taken. <br />Personal Personal protective equipment is cleaned, laundered, and disposed of with no cost to <br />protective the associate. <br />equipment <br />Protective equipment will be repaired and replaced to maintain its effectiveness, at no <br />cost to the associate. <br />If blood or other potentially infectious materials penetrate a garment(s) worn by the <br />associate, the garment(s) shall be removed immediately. <br />All personal protective equipment shall be removed prior to leaving the work area and <br />placed in an appropriately designated area or container for storage. <br />Gloves Disposable (single use) gloves will not be washed or decontaminated for re -use. <br />Beverly Healthcare <br />Utility gloves may be decontaminated for re -use if the integrity of the glove is not <br />compromised.
