4. All bbbazardous storage areas will have a sign of warning indicating "Caution <br /> Blohazardous Waste Storage Area Unauthorized Persons Keep Out". These signs win <br /> be legible from at least 25 feet and placed on exterior of entrance.Al storage areas win <br /> be secure so as to deny access to unauthorized persons. <br /> 5. Collection and storage containers for biohazardous waste will be lined with a red bag <br /> to prevent moisture and tears. These containers will be thoroughly cleaned and <br /> disinfected once a week or when needed and be in good repair. For disinfection, the <br /> container will be washed and disinfected by exposure to the following: <br /> 6. In the event of an emergency, our action plan is to utilize a#emate transporters <br /> although our transporter has an internal system of backup. if arrangements cannot be <br /> made for medical waste pickup within the time allowed, the Department Of Health <br /> Services Environmental Management Branch will be contacted. <br /> 9. In the event of a spill, dean up will be completed promptly with a solution of <br /> 10. Each new employee who works in a department that may produce or have contact <br /> with medical waste will receive an orientation at the time of hire in the procedures for the <br /> in house collection, transportation, and storage of biohazardous waste at this facility <br /> before his/her first day on the job. Continuing in-service training will be the responsibility <br /> of the Director of Staff Development. <br /> 11. Medical waste is not treated on-site. <br /> 12. This facility produces no medical waste which contains or is comprised of <br /> recognizable anatomical remains. <br /> 13. Mixed waste, which means a mixture of medical and nonmedical waste is handled <br /> as medical waste. <br /> 14. This facility produces no radioactive waste. <br /> 15.This facility produces no waste that contains or is comprised of pathological material <br /> or chemotherapeutic agents. <br /> 316 <br />
