Hazardous pharmaceutical waste is to be separated from other waste types at the point of <br /> disposal by placing into an available RCRA black container. <br /> 2. Chemotherapy and biotherapy bags/bottles with attached IV tubing and connections, IV <br /> piggyback bags with attached tubing and connections should be placed in chemotherapy <br /> ziplock bags before disposal into the RCRA containers to prevent release of free liquids. <br /> 3. Chemotherapy and biotherapy pill containers, medicine cups, packaging and all other items <br /> that come into contact with hazardous drugs such as gauze, alcohol wipes, paper drapes and <br /> pads should be placed in specially marked, yellow collection container that is lined with a <br /> red, biohazard bag for trace chersotherapeLtic waste. <br /> 4: Chemotherapy spill items that have become contaminated by chemotherapy/biotherapy such <br /> as PPE, linens, patient gowns, mop heads used for spill clean-up should be placed in <br /> chemotherapy ziplock bags before disposal into the RCRA containers. <br /> 5. Other RCRA waste can be placed directly into the RCRA container. <br /> C.
