ARTS Emergency Response and Training Solutions
Regulatory Notifications:
Pursuant to California Code, Section 8670.25.5 GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 8670.25-
8670.27, on 25 Jan 22, at 1334 ET, ERTS contacted the California Emergency Management
Agency (EMA) and operator Diego received the call and provided number 22-0500 to this
incident. ERTS notified the San Joaquin County Environmental Health at 1354 ET, and operator
Sheryll received the report but did not assign a number.
Corrective Action:
On 25 Jan 22, at 1106 ET, Patriot Environmental Services (Patriot) arrived on site and assessed
the impact area. Their initial assessment is 100 gallons of diesel released impacting a 10ft by 15ft
area of concrete due to a punctured saddle tank. The area was covered in absorbents prior to their
arrival and the tank was actively leaking. Patriot patched the fuel tank to stop the leak. All
impacted absorbent was placed into drums. Additional granular absorbent was applied, worked
into the surface, and swept into the drums. Patriot confirmed that there was no soil nor storm
drain impact. All waste was placed into three drums and were removed from the site. All on site
work was completed on 25 Jan 22. Please see the attached provided site photos (Appendix 2).
Waste Disposal:
On 7 Feb 22, Patriot delivered the three drums of nonhazardous diesel impacted absorbent to
Crosby and Overton in Long Beach, CA for proper disposal. Please see the attached disposal
documents (Appendix 3).
Conclusion and Recommendations:
The release has been completely remediated and no evidence was found that suggests any
significant environmental impact remains on the site. EATS suggests that this project be closed,
and no further remedial action be taken.
ERTS and Penske appreciate your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions regarding
this project, please do not hesitate to contact me at 813.391.7322.
Respectfully,
Adam D.
