Met Patricia Gonzales onsite. Observed septic GIRARDI <br />tank with a caved in top and in disrepair that serves wastewater disposal for a <br />dwelling unit attached to a barn. The septic tank is located 20 feet to the north of <br />the barn. According to the property owner, this tank is made of redwood and was <br />installed over 10 years ago with a leachfield that includes, which she believes, <br />three leachlines for the dwelling unit. There are no permits on file for this system <br />and there are no building permits for the dwelling unit. No surfacing sewage <br />observed from the septic system at the time of site visit. Additionally, there is a <br />drainline from the dwelling unit observed that drains grey water to an opened area <br />near the septic tank. According to the property owner, this drainline serves a <br />washing machine located inside the unit. Greywater shall be properly discharged <br />to an approved septic system. <br />Took measurements of the the existing water well is 70 feet to the west from the <br />septic tank. This would meet old lot of records setback requirements. <br />Discussed with Patricia that the proper septic system permits, likely a new <br />installation permit because the existing system was installed without permits, <br />would be required. Also, code enforcement will be notified regarding the dwelling <br />unit who will then determine the required, and most appropriate permitting <br />requirements.
